Tania 13, from Beirut

My name is Tania, I’m 13—almost 14 this October—and I live in Hazmieh. My dad is from Baakafra in the Bcharré district, and my mom is from Ain el Remmeneh.

A memory I will never forget is the moment I hugged my teta before she died in the war. It was the last time I held her, and it’s something I’ll carry with me forever.

What gives me comfort is my faith in God, and the beauty of the sunset. No matter how heavy life feels, watching the sun go down makes me feel calm and reminds me that tomorrow will come.
