About Milla
My name is Milla, and I’m a 17-year-old with Dutch and Lebanese roots, currently living in London.
I started The Olive Branch because I felt a deep need to do something—watching people my age living through war while seeing how disconnected my London community was from their reality made it impossible to stay silent.
Spending time in Lebanon and hearing stories from people close to me—especially my mother, who experienced conflict firsthand—opened my eyes to how deeply war impacts young lives.
But The Olive Branch isn’t just about Lebanon or the Middle East. It’s a platform for young voices from anywhere touched by conflict—a place where their stories, fears, and hopes can be heard.
Growing up between cultures taught me that perspective changes everything. Through The Olive Branch, I want to build real connections between different worlds—amplifying authentic narratives, growing empathy, and reminding people of the humanity we all share, no matter where we’re from.
